Who

This is how you find your dream avatar your making content for or in business terms, your ideal customer profile (ICP).

The reason we want to find who your content is for is so that:

  1. It’s easier to create and speak with authority (at any given stage in your journey.)

  2. Your aligned on who you’ll be selling to in the future, so your content will already be set up to convert later down the road.

This goes beyond any one given niche.

We want every single video to feel like a message to a younger version of yourself. This is the only person to ever exist that you’ll always be 100% qualified to talk to.

HOW TO SPEAK TO YOUR YOUNGER SELF

Journal → open.

So to find out how to talk to your younger self you need to understand who you’ve become.

The first to this is by profiling ourselves, write out your:

Age

Gender

Ethnicity

Languages spoken

Occupation

Daily habits

Hobbies

Likes

Dislikes

Morals

Beliefs

Once we have this we need deeply dissect our dreams, pains and solutions for the three main facits of life: Health, Wealth, and Relationships

EXAMPLE ON HOW TO DO THIS (using health)

  1. Write out as many specific desires for your health as you can think of

Live a long life, have a 6 pack, never be sick, etc

  2. Then under those desire write 3 specific struggles for each desire you face when trying to achieve that desire

Have a 6 pack → junk food, low cardio, sitting at a desk all day

  3. Then write down the solutions to each of those struggles

junk food → stop buying it and cut out processed sugars.

low cardio → make a commitment to run for 20 minutes each day

sitting at a desk all day → buy a standing desk and implement 10 minute walks into your workflow

And after doing this for the health, wealth, and relationships you should have a pretty lengthly list of your dreams, the obstacles in the way of those dreams, and the solutions to reach them.

You want to include these pains and dreams in your content as much as possible.

Do not try to act like an expert if you are not one, this is how you set off people’s bs alarms.

It’s ok to suck at the start.

I sucked at content for 10 years and now I build personal brands for a living. At no point in that journey did I lie and say I was better than I was at any given stage.

You need to open and vulnerable with your audience, that is how you build trust.

So how do we find who we’re speaking to in each video?

BUILDING TARGET AVATAR

Pull out the ol’ journal again because we have more questions to answer.

Our goal by the end of this exercise is for you know exactly who you make content for with out having to think about it.

(you can pull from your Ikigai and mantra here as well.)

This confidence will translate into your script, camera presences, and overall brand messaging.

MY EXAMPLE

“I make content for creators and business owners who want to build unique, authentic personal brands that convert.”

Write these down and answer them in extreme detail, after your done you should have a clear idea of your ICP.

  1. What is my target audience actually dreaming about?

Don’t include tools, knowledge, or skills that are needed to achieve this just yet. For example, I know your dreaming about 10,000 new followers, not the systems you’ll need to get there.

  2. What are the that cause inconvenience, stress, or dissatisfaction in my target audience.

You need to address and empathize with these problems in your content through tips, solution's, and advice. It’s the fastest way to build trust and credibility.

  3. Who can you serve best with current skill set?

  4. What problems can you solve?

  5. Who has money? (charge an average industry price if beginning)

  6. Who are you passionate about helping?

  7. Include a “shiny object” (find what other people are known for)

    1. (2-4 words long, explain what you do, little mystery, with a container word at the end) (system, funnel, blueprint, framework)

    2. Who wouldn’t want “buzz word” and bonus thing (pieces of dream outcome research.)
